First off, I believe some people will be strongly opposed to robots, viewing them as competition which will steal jobs and livelihoods. Well to answer this, humankind and technology is constantly evolving, and it is necessary to adapt to changing times. Just look at stableboys and glassblowers of yester-year, and you will realize the rise of humanoids (aka human-like robots) is inevitable and will ultimately enhance our lives.

These robots typically have a dark-visor over their face, to avoid the uncanny valley effect - This describes the unsettling feeling people get from robots that appear almost, but not perfectly, human. Studies have shown that as an object becomes more humanlike, our affinity, or liking, for it increases, but this trend abruptly drops into a “valley” of discomfort and revulsion when the resemblance is close but flawed before potentially rising again when the object is nearly indistinguishable from a real human.

I believe consumer robots will be given serial numbers or license plates similar to cars, which must be made visible on their body at all times. They may also be customizable to a certain extent in terms of paintjobs, clothes, accessories, even wigs. Future iterations of these robots may even create very life-like humans, with faces indistinguishable from a real human.

Humanoid robots should prove very adept at these roles due to a combination of factors: Their super-strength, extreme precision (in academics or specialized tasks), low maintenance or sustenance requirements, and ability to withstand harsh or hazardous environments.
