Kızkumu (Kız Kumu Beach)

This area of ankle-high shallow water across two bays in southeastern Turkey is a famous tourist attraction. Its local name is "Girl Sand Beach", as according to legend, a girl fills her skirt with sand and walks into the sea to meet her lover on the other shore by filling the water with her sand, but drowns when she runs out of sand.
