Pripyat
This ghost city in northern Ukraine was evacuated on the afternoon of 27 April 1986, the day after the Chernobyl disaster when it was still part of the Soviet Union. Tourists are now allowed to visit most parts of the city within the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, where the level of radiation is within a permitted range.
