Rocinha (Favela)
This largest favela in Brazil is built on a steep hillside overlooking Rio de Janeiro, and is located about one kilometre from a nearby beach. It is also the most populous favela in Brazil and a tourist "slum attraction", although prone to unpredictable bouts of drug gang violence in the past.
